I love to cook for me and Gav but I also like whipping up treats for my huge pooch, Gray (Alaskan malamute).
I recently made these cookies.
- Grated carrots
- Wheat germ
All mixed up, shaped, baked and tah dah!
Healthy and tasty
This recipe is curtesy of the well known Mr Jamie Oliver, it offers a speedy dish with a naughty, satisfying feeling!
I cooked this on a Friday night knowing that I wanted a treat, something tasty but something that wouldnt require huge amount of prep work. This recipe was perfect for that, you could smoke the salmon your self but on this occasion I opted not to. I did however make the basil mayonnaise which is really delicious.
When you bite into this mammoth sandwich you instantly get the feeling of indulgence, soft smoked salmon, sticky sweet bacon, oozing creamy mayo….a total delight.
Make it, eat it, enjoy!
Although I am a massive fan for preparing and cooking a meal from start to end, sometimes I do treat myself to a night out of the kitchen
Recently I started to add all of the ingredients to my basket (online) for a duck parfait. Despite my salavating desire for this dish my enthusiasm on the making of it drooped. And so, I cheated and bought a store made version.
Flipping delicious it was and with no prep work…. Instant!
I have been to the Botanist before in Alderly Edge and it has always been great.
I have been to the one in Chester twice now and both times I have to say that the service has been slow, slow, slow! We went yesterday, it was quite empty and so slow, was not excusable!
However the food did not let me down. This time I had the chicken and chorizo pie. It was creamy, a tad spicy and throughly enjoyable. I would certainly revommend!
It also has a nice atmosphere in here, relaxed and comfortable plus slightly quirky.
I frequent the Bulls Heas in Mobberley, Knutsford all the time, A) because it’s my local and B) because it’s AMAZING!
Firstly, it’s atmosphere is brilliantly welcoming. The beer garden us large and accessible in a beautiful setting meaning on a warm day it’s a perfect place to be. Inside it’s dark and cosy with a roaring fire. Dogs are welcome too which is an added benefit for me!
The bar is stocked with all the usual suspects but it also has a great local beer selection and a large whisky selection.
The food is top quality. It features an upper class selection at reasonable prices and the menu changes just enough to not get bored but not too much that you miss your favorites.
During my recent visit I enjoyed the game stew….sounds simple but words can not describe how delicious this dish was!!
