Tonight’s menu showcased lamb again! But this time British lamb leg was the cut of choice and boy was it a sensation.
The lamb steaks (seasoned with olive oil, salt and pepper) were flash fried for 2 minutes each side leaving them pink and soft throughout and I served the steaks with a great summer salad and Rosemary roasties.
The salad consisted of pomegranate, walnuts, pistachios, shallots, Chilli, parsley, green olives, olive oil and Lemon juice and was a sheer delight. Texture and taste packed!
This dish far exceeded what you would expect from a Monday night at home, a pretty great start to the foodie week.
You can not underestimate this dessert, it’s a mammoth monster of calories and deliciousness which is a very dangerous pairing.
The base is simply crushed Oreos and butter.
The middle layer is a mixture of peanut butter and more butter.
The topping is a lashing of melted chocolate and even more butter!
Yes it’s dangerous but wow is it divine to eat. I wouldn’t recommend you try this!
But be warned fellow foodies, these are calorific making them only allowable as a special treat! I enjoyed these on movie night….my naughty night ☺️
They are a creamy, cheesy, crispy contender for gold!
- Bake 2 chicken breast in an oven at 180 (wrapped in foil to keep it moist)
- When cooked, shred the chicken
- Mix the shredded chicken with 250g Chilli soft cheese, 100g grated monetary jack cheese, a drop of hot sauce (to suit your heat ability) and seasoning
- Heat sunflower oil in a frying pan
- Spread the chicken mix over a tortilla wrap and sandwich with a second wrap
- Fry until golden on both sides
We were extra naughty as you can see, we added onion rings!
Me and Gav like to break up the working week with a naughty movie night. It’s really just an excuse to pick a movie, have a tipple and eat guilty food. Last night we watched The Babadook, it was not good, but the food was yummy and picked by Gav for a change.
We had grilled Gouda and mushroom sandwiches:

A completely greasy, naughty dish but so indulging and delicious. However, today I can still feel the grease sitting on my stomach and so I think it will be a while before I revisit grilled cheese!!
Ive had this little gem saved on my Pinterest for an age now.
I came home tonight with no dinner planned and few ingredients to use but alas, I had a cauliflower. I think I bought it subliminally in order to make this recipe!
I have to say, I wanted to be naughty but I went for this and WOW I am so glad I did! What a truly delish dish. Granted, it may be better as a side, a snack or party nibbles but these salt and pepper florets are moorish xnd healthy. A winner!
Really simple, really quick, really cheap and really tasty. A veg that packs a punch and totally great served with a sweet chili sauce.
We all love a bit of Pinterest right? This little delight came from there.
I whizzed this up after a 2 hour gym session this morning. Good, but next time I woul be tempted to go for a tad more coco powder 😋
This week I have been enjoying these darling little breakfast pots, the idea is courtesy of a lovely Pinterest pinner!
Basically the core recipe is:
- Porridge oats
- Almond Milk
- Greek Yoghurt
Then you can mix up the flavours……………………A couple of my favourites to date is honey, blueberry and of course, peanut butter!
All you need to do is mix everything together, pop it in the fridge overnight and in the morning you have a creamy, tasty delight!
Healthy, easy, quick and delish!
I suppose the mason jar is optional but I think to cute not to do.
Happy (early) valentines everyone!!
In preparation for tomorrow I’ve made some reasonably healthy chocolate truffles courtesy of Pinterest:
Now the content of these truffles is high in saturated fat and so you will want to eat these in moderation (WARNING: you will find that hard to do) but they are actually quite good for you and much better than reaching for conventional chocolate.
Really easy and quick to make and I can not tell you how dreamy they taste!!!!!! 😈😇😈😇😇😈😈😇😈
