A smoothie a day keeps the chub away

Breakfast

My thing right now is breakfast smoothies, in fact it’s been my “thing” for a few months now.

I make myself a beast of a shake and consume it after the gym, normally over the duration of a couple of hours. They are so filling they keep me hungerless until way after lunch time and they taste great to boot!

  
The mixture changes daily but basically consists of:

  • A flavored low fat yoghurt
  • Almond milk
  • Banana/avocado to thicken
  • Whey powder (currently cookies and cream)
  • Fruit/peanut butter/coffee/green leaves/anything really

They are honestly wonderful and the peanut butter ones really keep you going! Today I had mango and Passion fruit and it was a winner!

Protein POWER

Often my post consist of healthy recipes but this is a lean, mean, protein punch post!

I’ve been having this (or a variation of this) every day for weeks now. So amazingly tasty, thick and filling. A must haveif your   working out.

  • 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder
  • 1 banana or half an avocado 
  • 4 tbsp of low fat yoghurt
  • Almond milk to crest desired consistency 
  • A blast of crushed ice (helps to thicken)

Seriously tasty.

My variation include adding frozen berries / peanut butter / flavored yoghurt / coffee

  

A recipe for egg on toast? What the!?!?!

For dinner tonight? A simple, healthy scrambled egg on toast with mushroom.

Did I need a recipe for this? Heck no! I mastered egg on toast at least 15 years ago!! 😄

Did I use a recipe for this? Yes 😏

Why? Because I have this bonkers obsession to use EVERY SINGLE recipe in each of my books, regardless. Don’t ask.

Tonight was one of those times where I got more than I expected. The recipe called for creme fraich to be mixed with the egg, something I have never done before and it was quite a delight!

See, experimenting with even the most basic of recipes can be worthwhile!!

Easy prep breakfast pot!

This week I have been enjoying these darling little breakfast pots, the idea is courtesy of a lovely Pinterest pinner!

Basically the core recipe is:

  • Porridge oats
  • Almond Milk
  • Greek Yoghurt

Then you can mix up the flavours……………………A couple of my favourites to date is honey, blueberry and of course, peanut butter!

All you need to do is mix everything together, pop it in the fridge overnight and in the morning you have a creamy, tasty delight!

Healthy, easy, quick and delish!

I suppose the mason jar is optional but I think to cute not to do.

Christmas breakfast

After a fresh dog walk to start the day we cracked open the Bucks Fizz, ripped open our presents and then cooked up a Christmas Brekky treat.

Christmas morning this year consisted of Eggnogg pancakes (a pancake mix enhanced with Bourbon, cinnamon and nutmeg) topped with crispy bacon and maple syrup. Blooming YuM!!!!
