No excuses here.
This is some high calorie, high taste, deep fried mother macaroni!
Take macaroni cheese. Roll it in a ball. Coat it in bread crumbs. Fry it.
Immense. Naughty. Tasty.
It was so good, despite the fat content I ate the left overs the next day……with a salad to ease my guilt.
Date night last night involved a meal at the Bar and Grill restaurant in Alderley Edge, Cheshire.
This is my 2nd visit now and I would quite happily keep on going.
Food: I had the prawn tempura starter. The dish was presented very prettily and consisted of 4 monster prawns with a delicate batter and a sweet, lime laced Chilli sauce. For the main I had spilled pork burger which was juicy and moist and was so large I barely touched the chips. Alongside this we were given bread and dipping oil and overall I really couldn’t complain about any part. Delicious (Gav had the beef carpaccio which was melt in the mouth, followed by a risotto)
Price: 2 starters, 2 mains, a bottle of Chardonnay, a espresso martini and a vodka for just under £100. Very reasonable.
Ambiance: A modern clean cut venue, white and fresh. We had the added benefit of being sat by the window so had the enjoyment of watching the night pass and the fancy cars too! (When you go out I this area you have to be aware it’s full of money and so be prepared for: fast cars / botoxed women / old men pretending to be young / dapper outfits)
Negative: the only complaint is that as soon as we declined pudding we were ignored. When we wanted another drink Gav had to hail down a waitress who seemed annoyed at our request. Despite repeating the order twice the waitress for some reason didn’t understand and a second person then came over (how hard is it to understand “vodka pleas”?)
Score: 9/10 It would have been a 10 if it wasn’t for the slight waitress complaint
