Sunday was a joyous day, I took my mother, sister and friends to the Knutsford makers market!
It’s great….loads of tasty stalls offering everything from baked bread to sweet scotch eggs. Not only that, but there are stacks of artisanal goods stalls too!
Whilst there we decided to get our nosh on and I treat my self to some delightful Turkish street food.
I frequent the Bulls Heas in Mobberley, Knutsford all the time, A) because it’s my local and B) because it’s AMAZING!
Firstly, it’s atmosphere is brilliantly welcoming. The beer garden us large and accessible in a beautiful setting meaning on a warm day it’s a perfect place to be. Inside it’s dark and cosy with a roaring fire. Dogs are welcome too which is an added benefit for me!
The bar is stocked with all the usual suspects but it also has a great local beer selection and a large whisky selection.
The food is top quality. It features an upper class selection at reasonable prices and the menu changes just enough to not get bored but not too much that you miss your favorites.
During my recent visit I enjoyed the game stew….sounds simple but words can not describe how delicious this dish was!!
Despite my love affair with noodles it’s a while since I’ve made up a batch, but tonight changed that.
Prawn Noodles was the dinner choice for tonight, with a Chinese influence:
- Place the Noodles in boiling water and add 1tbsp Soy sauce, 1tsp Chinese five spice and leave to soften.
- Meanwhile fry thinly sliced carrot, onion and chili in a wok
- When softened slightly add some chopped kale and the prawns
- Finally season and mix the prawn mixture into the noodles
Let me know your thoughts……
As a belated birthday treat I met a friend at the Gardeners cottage at Tatton Park, Knutsford.
We enjoyed a scrummy afternoon tea and a much needed catch up.
For the second time now we each had the Gardeners tea: £10 for a choice of two bloomers, cake/scone and tea/coffee. For the second time, neither of us finished it due to the portion size. This place really is great value and top notch quality.
If ever you are around the area you should treat yourself to to a visit, not only is it great value and tasty, but the surroundings are truly beautiful.
This cafe really is a quaint as the name suggests.
Situated in the court yard area in Tatton park, Knutsford (Cheshire, UK) this cafe is wonderful after a lovely romp round the grounds!
It has a cute outdoors area and despite being three floors in capacity, inside still feels cosy and eclectic.
Myself and my friend enjoyed the Gardeners afternoon tea which consisted of two tastes of sandwiches, a pot of tea of your choice and s cake or scone. It was greatly delicious and so large I couldn’t finish it. For £10 you could get better value.
I would really recommend this cute cafe.
A little late but is like to tell you about the beautiful meal we had on Valentine’s at the knutsford wine bar.
Me and Gav have drank in here on many occasions but have never eaten there as it’s often booked up (Hint: book in advance!), I’ve always wanted to try dining here and so I booked us in well in advance.
We spent a few hours drinking and then made our way to the wine bar at 9pm.
The atmosphere inside is lively but cosy. It’s a very warm present place to be and although busy, the acoustics make it so it isn’t too loud.
But let’s talk about the food…….
For starters I had a wood pigeon dish which was utterly faultless and Gav chose the scallop and beetroot risotto.
For the mains I had fish cakes and Gav chose a mushroom stroganoff (apologies about the pics, I started before I remembered to take a snap!! ☺️)
I can’t actually tell you too much about the food as honestly, I was a little tipsy, however I know it was beautiful and reasonably priced.
I would very much recommend a visit.
10/10 all round
Lastnight we enjoyed the pleasure of having Gavs sister and husband staying with us.
We took them into knutsford and ended up in a new restaurant called Jack Rabbits.
Now this isn’t really a review because by the time we got to the restaurant I was totally tipsy but I wanted to share the fuzzy memories I do have as I think they were all rather positive! 😊
I had a pulled pork burger with a side of onion rings and it completely hit the mark. Very naughty, just on the right side of grease and with a hint of sweetness.
The thing I was most impressed with however was the range of sauces they brought to the table, which amongst everything you could want, included a very HOT sauce!!!
And the presentation was great!
