The Botanist, Chester. Again!

Restaurant, Vegetarian

Yes, I’ve blogged sbout this place before, but you know, it’s really worth highlighting.

It’s a chain, there’s one closer to me in Alderley Edge and there is one soon to open in Knutsford, whoop! Unlike other chains however, the food is really rather good!

Food: I enjoyed the halloumi Kebab with the giant cous cous and chips. Totally tasty and a decent size portion

Price: No complaints. £12 for a main course is cheap in my book

Drink: Damn good cocktails. I had the passion fruit cocktail which could have kept me say there all day.

Ambiance: Here lies the winning element. This place has a great vibe, the decor is relaxed but utterly cool and the music, typically live and acoustic, is a perfect background buzz.

Manchester Deaf Institute

Food, Foodie, Restaurant, Starters

Hail the almighty SLUG!

Last night we went to my friends gig (SLUG) at the Manchester Deaf Institute and it was a brilliant night. Aside from the fact that the band were truly brilliant, the venue was pretty darn good too!

The building its self is a visual delight both outside and in, extremely quirky, and the menu (although limited) wasn’t half bad!

Frozen cocktails: £4! This is bonkers. So cheap for Manchester and they didn’t taste watered down either!

Food: I just wanted a nibble so went for the nachos. They were yummy, they came with a grilled pineapple salsa which really differentiated them. My friends had burgers and wings and rated them highly.

I would defiantly go back here and in fact I plan to go to the wednesday taco and tequila night!!
