Singapore street food: Fruitful!

Fish

It’s been about a month since my break in Singapore and I’m not yet tired of looking at my snaps! I found these pics of us enjoying the street food from the outer edge of the marina…

I can’t recal exactly what we had now but I’m readonably sure mine was pineapple fried rice (the pineapple bowl is a giveaway right?), we were at a fish counter where they killed and cooked the seafood of your choice in front of you. I could quite stomach that and so opted for fish less! Gav however braved the prawns!

Sawasdee Thai restaurant panwa bay, Thailand

Uncategorized

During our stay in Panwa bay we tried out some of the local restaurants and I think Sawasdee may have been my favorite!

It was a small place right on the ocean front which offered a quirky environment with a stunning view. The menu was varied featuring authentic Thai cuisine to the typical international staples.

I opted for Thai fish cakes (I had to right!?!) followed by a beef coconut curry of some kind (I can’t remember it’s exact name any longer). Gav went for satay and a lighter curry. It was all truly delicious but mine was very rich and overall I found the food in Thailand to be a little salty for my taste.

Great place….and cheap!

Thailand poolside snackaroo

Starters

Whilst in Thailand we were unbelievablely healthy. I mean seriously, considering we were on holiday, our “naughty” consumption remained very reserved.

However on our second to last day I rebelled against the crazyness and ordered us a poolside snack to share. We went for mushroom quesadillas and a satay selection. They were so very tasty, I wished I’d ordered more food earlier! The quesadilla were particularly  tasty, if not a little greasy…..but may that’s what’s made them good!!

Patong street food

Beef

I very recently visited Singapore and Thailand, whilst in Thailand we had a night in Patong.

The place it’s self was an experience!!

Sadly it’s quite commercial and so in between bars there were the usual joints such as Burger King and Starbucks but we did stumble upon a small food market and treat ourselves to some kebabs. I opted for a sticky sweet beef and pineapple kebab, the tastes were seriously powerful but I’m pretty sure the meat was pure fat and I couldn’t chew nor swallow. My other half however had a pork honey taste sensation which proved more edible.

Fun night regardless of the less than exciting food opportunities.
