Last day of my working week, thank you!!! This also means last 6.10am alarm for my pre work 90 minute gym session, phew.
No better way to start the day than with some hard physical exertion and a delicious and nutritional smoothie!
Happy weekend folks
Ummm ummmm ummm this sweet salmon with sticky coconut rice and fresh greens tasted soo good that I lost my ability to speak!
Easy, nutritional, healthy and quick…a fantastic post work out meal!
Simply make a marinade of:
- 1tbsp runny honey, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, sesame oil
- 1tbsp grated fresh ginger
- 1 chopped garlic clove
And marinade the salmon for an hour if possible.
Boil 75g per person of basmati rice, when cooked add salt, pepper and 100ml coconut milk and cook for another 5 minutes.
Whilst the rice is cooking boil some broccoli and green beans for just 2-3 minutes, keep them fresh!
Also grill the salmon for 4 minutes each side. Then serve!
A really light but supremely flavoured dish, the garlic and ginger really zing on your tongue and the creamy rice just takes off the edge. As i said…..nom!
5 mile run with Gray done and so it’s only fair I treat myself to a delicious smoothie!
Fear not, I will not spoil my hard work, this drink is Protien packed despite tasting like a dessert.
Vanilla whey, options chocolate powder, peanut butter, banana, almond milk, fat free yoghurt
My thing right now is breakfast smoothies, in fact it’s been my “thing” for a few months now.
I make myself a beast of a shake and consume it after the gym, normally over the duration of a couple of hours. They are so filling they keep me hungerless until way after lunch time and they taste great to boot!
The mixture changes daily but basically consists of:
- A flavored low fat yoghurt
- Almond milk
- Banana/avocado to thicken
- Whey powder (currently cookies and cream)
- Fruit/peanut butter/coffee/green leaves/anything really
They are honestly wonderful and the peanut butter ones really keep you going! Today I had mango and Passion fruit and it was a winner!
Often my post consist of healthy recipes but this is a lean, mean, protein punch post!
I’ve been having this (or a variation of this) every day for weeks now. So amazingly tasty, thick and filling. A must haveif your working out.
- 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder
- 1 banana or half an avocado
- 4 tbsp of low fat yoghurt
- Almond milk to crest desired consistency
- A blast of crushed ice (helps to thicken)
My variation include adding frozen berries / peanut butter / flavored yoghurt / coffee
